There is no reason for the people in Kanowit not to support Barisan Nasional in the coming general election with basic infrastructure development coming their way.
Kanowit MP Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said soon the people in Machan and Ngemah state constituencies under Kanowit parliamentary constituency would get their electricity supply and better road link to their longhouses.
“Roads are being constructed now to areas in Poi, Machan, Rantau Dilang and Kampung Bedil,” he said, stopping short of mentioning the length covered and the construction period.
He said this during a ‘Heart To Heart’ programme organised at Rumah Basil in Sungai Pedai in Kanowit on Saturday.
Also present at the function were Ngemah assemblyman Alexander Vincent and his wife Susan Clement.
Aaron later said that the government had a huge plan for development in rural areas through various projects.
For Kanowit, more than 60 longhouses in three former Rajang Area Security Command resettlement scheme, namely Nanga Tada, Nanga Ngungun and Nanga Jagau are now spotted in the same red spandex roofing, he noted.
“The government too has introduced various schemes like rubber replanting and oil palm planting to help rural people improve their socio economy,” he said.
Meanwhile, Alexander said the government was giving priority to infrastructure development in rural areas to ensure longhouse folks could enjoy the same facilities as in urban areas.
