PKR Ajak Pemerhati Luar

The opposition has invited foreigners to observe the upcoming 13th general election.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) secretary-general Datuk Saifuddin Nasution said the opposition had every right to invite the foreign observers.

“The opposition leader’s office is inviting international election monitoring observers to the country, who are expected in about two weeks,” said Saifuddin recently.

“The incumbent government could ignore the monitors’ presence or the results of their work, but their reports will carry an important message as to whether the electoral process was fair or not.”

He added that as Malaysia sent two members of parliament to monitor the recent Myanmar elections, the country has shown that it recognises the role of foreign observers during elections.

The foreign observers, he said, would monitor conditions before, during and after the election.
